Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays

Digital radiography is fast, safe, and accurate, permitting our chiropractors to complete more work quicker and with less expense. Digital x-rays allow us to quickly identify areas where there are misalignments (vertebral subluxations). Detailed results can be shared with patients and help to explain how treatment will be executed. Patients may even take x-ray results with them on a DVD for later review or to show others.

Some of the benefits of digital x-rays include:

  • Patients are exposed to 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays
  • Quality – Our chiropractors can easily magnify images and highlight areas of interest which helps with diagnosis and treatment
  • Portable – digital x-rays are easy to share via email or other electronic means for easy viewing by other healthcare professionals

Extremity Adjustment

chiropractic extremity adjustment

When joint misalignment exists, tissues in the area of the misalignment are stretched, resulting in inhibition or weakening of adjacent muscles. Extremity adjustment involves finding these misaligned joints and weakened muscles and resolving the misalignment so that normal muscles strength will be restored and pain and inflammation will be reduced or eliminated.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Tape is a special tape developed by a Japanese Chiropractor. It helps in supporting a chiropractic adjustment by supporting joints and muscles while removing swelling from parts of the body that are inflamed.

Traditional athletic tape restricts the movement of joints and affected muscles. Several layers of athletic tape are wrapped around the affected area. This applies quite a bit of pressure, which restricts the flow of blood and body fluids. This is the reason why athletic tape is normally placed immediately prior to an activity and removed shortly thereafter.

Kinesio Taping is quite different, it does not restrict the range of motion so that the body can heal its own muscular system biomechanically. The tape is quite thin and consists of a wave like glue pattern that lets the skin be virtually lifted from the area upon which it is placed. Kinesio tape massages the area gently during movement, allows the free flow of blood and body fluids, while providing joint stability. Some of the benefits of Kinesio Taping Include:

  • Helps Chiropractic adjustments to hold by supporting the affected area gently
  • Reduces pain by promoting the release of the body’s natural pain relievers called endorphins
  • Reduces swelling by improving the flow of body fluids
  • Improves muscle function by decreasing over contraction and muscle fatigue

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Non-Surgical Relief from Neck or Back Pain

Spinal Decompression Therapy

DTS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY® is a leading non-surgical alternative for disc related syndromes of the lumbar and cervical spine. DTS Therapy uses simple yet sophisticated equipment manufactured by the leading rehabilitation equipment manufacturer in the US, Chattanooga Group, Chattanooga’s Triton® DTS Decompressive Traction System is the most popular decompression system with thousands of installations worldwide.

The gentle distractive forces of the Triton® DTS creates decompression, the unloading due to distraction and proper positioning, to improve blood flow and important nutrient exchange to the injured area.

Your comfort and safety are of primary importance during DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy®. Therefore, unlike any other decompression device, you have several positioning options. Only if you’re 100% comfortable will you be able to achieve the ultimate objective of complete rehabilitation of your discs and spine. During DTS Therapy, you’ll experience several cycles of stretch and relaxation, which gently graduates to a peak over a period of several minutes.

Therapy sessions typically last less than 20 minutes, and many patients feel pain relief with as few as 9 – 10 treatments. It is important to remember however, that paid subsiding does not mean that your discs and spine are healed, so it’s critical that patients stick with the treatment protocol prescribed by their practitioners in order to achieve the full value of DTS Therapy.

DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy is a pain-free alternative that has shown a very high rate of success at reducing or even eliminating back and neck pain. If you suffer from chronic, debilitating, low back or neck pain, you owe it to yourself to call our office today to make an appointment to see if you’re a candidate for DTS Spinal Decompression Therapy.

Carpal Tunnel Decompression

 chiropractic carpal tunnel decompression

Surgery is the customary medical approach to carpal tunnel syndrome treatment. In addition to being expensive and a risk to overall health, surgery focuses on a single aspect of this disorder, which is the median nerve. The surgical goal is to relieve pressure that is on the median nerve. Nevertheless, in three fourths of surgical interventions the symptoms return within two years subsequent to surgery.

Recent research on this disorder has indicated that the arm and wrist pain it causes is symptomatic of issues in other parts of the body. Results indicate that the arm and wrist pain is related to the misalignment of ligaments, bones, and neck muscles.

These results serve to confirm what chiropractors have been aware of for a long time. The origin of carpal tunnel pain resides in the upper spine, rather than the wrist and arm.

The methods chiropractors use to treat carpal tunnel are far less invasive than surgery. Initially, we will attempt to relieve the pain and discomfort in the arm and wrist., then our focus will be on the neck.

The treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome can involve a variety of approaches, including trigger point therapy, spinal adjustment, home exercise, and injury avoidance.

Our holistic and natural methods of treating this disorder been affirmed by evidence based research, to have benefits for numerous carpal tunnel sufferers.

Vestibular Chochlear Balance For Vertigo

Many people experience vertigo at some time during their life. Vertigo, aka Eply's Maneuver, is often described as a dizziness, or a sensation of spinning of yourself or your immediate environment spinning around you. Frequently, people are able to describe the direction they are spinning, others can’t identify direction or the direction changes from time to time.

Frequently, vertigo results from some level of dysfunction of the vestibular system which resides in the inner ear. There are a number of conditions that may cause vertigo which include Meniere’s disease, a fistula, proxismal positional vertigo, vestibular neuronitis, canal dehiscence, and others. Injuries to portions of the nervous system and brainstem that process vestibular stimuli may also be causes.

If there is an imbalance or injury to a nervous system structure that receives and/or interprets vestibular nerve impulses, vertigo may result. Additional symptoms, like ringing in your ear could also be present.

Treatments frequently involve rehabilitation of the vestibular system that are designed to balance the system.

Our chiropractors have received comprehensive training in the treatment of vestibular disorders and have been treating these conditions for years with a great deal of success.
